El vicepresidente del COI Thomas Bach dijo que se le pidió al ciclista y al comité olímpico estadounidense que devuelvan la presea.

Armstrong fue despojado de sus siete títulos del Tour de Francia tras admitir que se dopaba.

Bach aseguró que no hay disputa legal alguna ya que la culpabilidad de Armstrong no admite duda.

«Lo único que falta es que nos entregan la medalla», expresó. «Desde el punto de vista legal, el caso está cerrado para el COI».
